» HTC Touch Diamond vs. Samsung i900 Omnia: Head-to-Head |
|
Jul 06, 2008 - 10:46 AM - by windows
|
The guys over at gsmarena.com have got their hands on both a HTC Touch Diamond and a Samsung i900 Omnia and run then through their paces side to side.
"t's PocketPC playoffs and HTC are giving Samsung a match at the GSM Arena. With two of the stars of the season arriving in our office all at once, we thought it's a heck of an opportunity for some Diamond-Omnia-Diamond-Omnia-Diamond-Omnia game-set-match with a pinch of iPhone flavor. We got two aces up to the challenge, so sit back and stretch out. Ah well, get that six-pack too and join us for the kick-off."
Some very interesting view points are made so why not pop over and read the article here.

» WM Team Blog: The Phone team says "Hello?" |
|
Jul 02, 2008 - 5:50 AM - by Forum

I'd like to share a great photo of the Windows Mobile Phone team enjoying a much needed day off. These guys (and gals) are responsible for Smart Dial, Call History, Speed Dial, Call Progress, Voicemail, Wireless Manager and a whole bunch of phone UI and APIs. They're all hard at work on building a great phone + connectivity experience for Windows Mobile "7". (The smiles on their faces are probably indicative of some great new features they've just wrapped up for "7").
Introducing the team from L-R:
JJ (test), Arturo (test), Darin (dev), Kerry (PM), Robert (dev lead), Howard (dev), Ritu (dev), Kelly (test), Thairu (dev).
So there you have it, folks - your typical Microsoft feature team consisting of dev, test and PM on a hot summer day. I'll try and post pictures of other teams bringing you Windows Mobile. In the mean time, feel free to share comments with the team but please keep it courteous.

» Visual IT Offer Reductions on all Tube2 Products |
|
Jul 01, 2008 - 5:21 PM - by neilm

Visual IT are offering reductions on all their Tube2 products throughout the month of July.
Tube2 standard maps are now £5 each (in London this includes Underground or Bus versions), and Pro maps £7.50. This includes the Geo series which utilises a device's GPS to give an accurate location fix, and also VisualIT's new Live Info service which uses the phone's data capability to give accurate public transport information. The Pro version adds a street map to the standard verson's Underground map.
Working in London, I've found these products to be an invaluable aid to planning travel
